My recent stay at the Lumen in Dallas was quite enjoyable. Nestled right across from Southern Methodist University, its location is fantastic for anyone looking to explore the area, with several restaurants just a short stroll away. The friendly staff truly made us feel welcomed, providing us with valuable tips for dining nearby—always a nice touch, especially when traveling with friends. While the room was functional and clean, I felt it was a bit in need of more renovations; it had that old hotel charm, but could use a refresh to align with the modern Kimpton vibe I was hoping for. The Front Room Tavern, however, was a highlight with its appealing American menu and cozy atmosphere, perfect for winding down after a day of festivities. The Lumen offers a charming stay with attentive service, and it’s an excellent option for those visiting SMU or just wanting to experience the blend of cultural dining and comfort in Dallas.
